Daniela Jakolis
Counsellor/psychotherapist NDIS/Disabilities
Daniela is a registered counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association. Over the past 17 years, Daniela has provided counselling and case management services to individuals who have a disability, chronic health issues, mental health, as well as alcohol and other drug issues. Daniela is a compassionate and empathic practitioner who cultivates optimism in her work with clients. Daniela’s approach is informed by academic training in Humanistic Counselling, also known as person-centred counselling. The person-centred approach acknowledges that everyone has the capacity and desire for personal growth and change. Daniela works in a collaborative and nondirective way that empowers and motivates the client. During therapy, Daniela provides support, guidance, and structure. This allows the client the opportunity to develop their own understandings, solutions, and strategies. Daniela also draws upon principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy as well as other evidenced based therapies.

Fees
Under NDIS, the total counselling fee comes out of your NDIS funding. There are NO out of pocket costs to you.
Individual counselling can be accessed via Capacity Building Supports (improved daily living/improved relationships) or through Core Supports.
You can directly self refer or alternatively your support coordinator can make the referral.
No GP referral is required.
I’m available Tuesday 12pm-4pm and Friday 10am-5pm fortnightly. Sessions are $156.16 as per NDIS guidelines for 60 minutes.
Qualifications
Master of Social Science-Counselling (Swinburne University)
Bachelor of Applied Science-Disability Studies (RMIT University)
Diploma of Community Services-Alcohol and Other Drug Studies
